Specifications are target values measured at sea level, 20 °C, with no wind and a full fuel tank. Actual performance varies with payload, altitude, temperature, wind and flight profile. Specifications are subject to change without notice. Operation must comply with local aviation regulations; at 32 kg MTOW the aircraft may require special authorisation in some countries (for example, above 25 kg in the EU or 55 lb in the USA).
Why hybrid
Battery multirotors fly for 20 to 40 minutes, so long missions mean carrying many batteries, chargers and generators to the field. The TAPROOT H6 Hybrid carries a fuel-injected gasoline generator that makes electricity in flight and drives six high-efficiency brushless motors. You get multi-hour flights with professional payloads, refuelling in minutes from a standard fuel can, and steady performance in heat and cold where batteries struggle. A built-in backup battery allows a controlled landing if the engine ever stops, and six rotors give more safety margin than four.
How the hybrid system works
-
01
Engine
A two-stroke, single-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection drives a brushless generator.
-
02
48 V power bus
The generator feeds a regulated 48 V DC bus that powers the six motors, the avionics and the payload.
-
03
Backup battery
A compact LiPo pack covers short peaks such as take-off and fast climbs, and is the emergency backup.
-
04
Push-button start
The engine starts electrically at the push of a button and can be restarted in flight.
-
05
Live engine data
Fuel level, fuel flow, engine RPM, cylinder head temperature and generator output are shown live in the ground control software.
